Uses for plastic pails include containing paints, chemicals-like methanol, ethanol and hydrogen peroxide, among others lubricants-like petroleum and others coatings & adhesives,roofing mastics,edible oils, foods and flavorings, driveway sealers,fasteners and and other liquid and solid applications.

High density polyethylene is often used for pails because of its dense molecular structure-in other words, it is less likely than some other materials to leach into whatever you're using it for (like food or other ingestible materials). Buckets made of HDPE are also exceptionally sturdy, and combined with their lightweight nature, they make for one of the most efficient types of buckets when it comes to weight vs weight capacity.
